Quality of Life

Over the past two years, Mayor Flanagan's administration has worked to improve the quality of life for Fall River residents.

Flanagan has targeted abandoned property for seizure, and sought to hold negligent property owners responsible for improving their properties.  He has proposed tripling the fine for littering, in an effort to keep Fall River streets clean.  Flanagan's administration has begun erasing illegal graffiti, to remove blight from the city streets.

Under Flanagan's leadership, the city has undertaken a massive effort to fix city roads and repair potholes. Mayor Flanagan has also proposed new ideas for public spaces, such as the city's first Dog Park on the corner of Locust and North Quarry Streets.

Mayor Flanagan understands that maintaining a high quality of live requires strong public safety.  That's why he has fought to add police and firefighters to the city's department through federal grant money, and begun efforts to modernize police and fire equipment.
