MAYOR FLANAGAN DECLARES VICTORY IN FALL RIVER PRELIMINARY ELECTION
Flanagan wins seven of nine wards, two-thirds of precincts
Fall River – Fall River Mayor Will Flanagan easily topped the ballot in a crowded six-way preliminary election today, winning 20 of 30 precincts. Despite a barrage of negative attack ads by several challengers, Flanagan topped his nearest challenger by more than 500 votes.
“I am overwhelmed by the support of the nearly 5,000 voters who cast their ballot for me today,” said Flanagan. “Nearly every neighborhood of the city made a statement today that they want to continue to move Fall River forward.”
Flanagan won seven of nine wards overall, and took every precinct in Wards 1 and 2.
“We have a lot of work left to do,” Flanagan said. “I am looking forward to a spirited debate before the general election on November 8. In the meantime, I will continue to work every day as Mayor to improve Fall River and create a better future for our residents.”
