LEADING US FORWARD
I was born and raised in this great city. My wife Marlene and I call Fall River our home. After graduating from Diman Vocational High School I went on to attend UMASS Dartmouth where I majored in Criminal Justice. While going to school full time during the day I would work nights at a local supermarket. After graduating from UMASS Dartmouth I made the decision to attend law school because I wanted to learn how I could use the law to help people. During law school I was awarded a legal internship with the city of Taunton, which gave me the opportunity to learn how the law affects a city and its citizens.
After graduating law school I successfully passed the bar exam. The city officials of Taunton recognized my leadership qualities and appointed me as their assistant attorney. As the assistant attorney for Taunton, I gained valuable experience as an adviser to the mayor, the city council, the police and fire chiefs, the city auditor, clerk and treasurer. In addition to these responsibilities, I successfully represented the legal interests of the city’s 55,000 citizens.
In 2006 our District Attorney Sam Sutter was elected to office and he asked me to join his staff as an Assistant District Attorney. While supervising both the Taunton and Fall River District Courts it was my responsibility to go into the courtroom to advocate for victims’ rights and to prosecute the criminals who victimize the good citizens of our neighborhoods.
My leadership and beliefs have always been and will continue to be geared toward the things that matter most, the city I live in and the community I serve.
I have made a strong commitment to public service and it is this commitment that has led me to be elected mayor here in the great City of Fall River.
